Job Advert Description

The opportunity

Our Energy and Sustainability department is a leading practice that advises broadly across the energy transition, covering real estate energy infrastructure, utility scale renewables, commercial and industrial, energy markets and regulations. A key part of our practice focuses real estate related energy infrastructure – covering everything from heat networks and utility connections through to microgrids, renewable energy generation and storage, EV chargepoints and connected regulatory issues.  We have a market leading heat network practice, advising developers, landlords and operators/suppliers on the transition to the regulated heat market. We also advise on grant funded and financed energy efficiency and decarbonisation projects, helping our clients deliver large scale retrofit programmes in the domestic and commercial market.

We work closely with our construction, real estate, planning, corporate, banking and tax teams to provide seamless advice on energy projects. We are at the forefront of innovation in the sector, helping our clients navigate the energy transition and how that impacts the built environment.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced associate to join our UK team to focus on the development of the domestic energy market.

What you will be doing

  • Advising on large scale retrofit programmes (including grant funded, 'energy as a service' and subscription models).
  • Advising on renewable energy projects, including rooftop solar, ground mounted solar and battery storage.
  • Support on regulatory/licencing issues relating to electricity (generation, distribution and supply) and heat networks.
  • Advising on utility connections including ICP and IDNO arrangements.
  • Advising on Power Purchase Agreements and Heat Supply Agreements etc.
  • Advising on Electric Vehicle Chargepoints and related infrastructure/contracts.
