There is an opportunity to join Trowers & Hamlins' mature International Corporate practice as an Associate in Abu Dhabi. Through our growing corporate team, whose primary focus is transactional work, we provide our clients a full suite of corporate and commercial services. We act for a diverse range of private sector, family and government clients across most industry sectors, including energy and infrastructure, TMT, healthcare, education, travel and tourism, financial services, real estate, retail, manufacturing, and food and beverage. As an important member of a high-performing team, you will work on Abu Dhabi inbound, domestic and outbound matters, often involving multiple jurisdictions. We are looking for an Associate with at least two to four years' corporate/commercial experience.
Principal responsibilities:
The new recruit will play a pivotal role in a variety of work types including but not limited to:
- Advising on M&A and private equity transactions including share and business acquisitions and disposals.
- Advising on company reorganisations.
- Advising on shareholders' agreements.
- Advising on corporate structures.
- Advising on general company law matters.
- Advising on Capital Markets matters.
- Project managing smaller scale transactions.
- Proactive participation in marketing initiatives.
- Participating in firm-wide and departmental training sessions.
Person specification:
The firm has a Career Development Framework which sets out the competencies we expect of those at the Associate grade. In particular for this role we expect candidates to demonstrate:
- Proven ability to take on responsibility and manage files with minimal supervision.
- Strong client focus and a commitment to service delivery.
- Excellent drafting skills.
- Drive and enthusiasm.
- Commercial awareness.
- Credibility.
- Flexibility and can-do attitude.
Experience and qualifications:
- Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 2- 4 years PQE.
- You will have trained and gained directly relevant experience at a recognised corporate practice and/or in-house legal team and display a commercial and problem-solving mindset.
- Preference for candidates qualified in the UK or another equivalent common law jurisdiction.
- Previous UK (or equivalent) and UAE experience preferred.
