Where you'll work

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and organised individual looking to develop broad marketing and business development skills as part of a growing Malaysia office. 

Reporting to the Marketing and Business Development Manager in Dubai, this role will suit someone looking to develop broad marketing and business development skills. Part of a 32-person Marketing team across firm's UK and international offices, this role will work closely with the partners, lawyers and business support based in the Kuala Lumpur office to help deliver the firm's business and marketing plans. In particular, this role will involve supporting our strategy for growth across South East Asia.

Business development: Develop an understanding of the clients of the firm and the markets in which the firm operates and is looking to target; apply that knowhow to help the business to win new work from new and existing clients. Updating and using the firm's Client Relationship Management system, InterAction.

Marketing strategy: Working closely with the partners and the Dubai based manager to implement the marketing plans. Conducting marketing research to enable connections into new target markets.

Bids: Input into bids, pitches and capability statements for clients and targets including compiling and drafting track record and other information on the firm.

Marketing communications and campaign management: Assist in executing new campaigns including formatting digital and printed materials to the firm's house style promoting content through traditional and digital channels including website, podcasts, video, webinars and social media.

Digital and social media: Assist in implementing social media strategies; supporting with the coordination of content for the firm's social media channels including editing audio and video content. Publishing content and making amendments to the website and intranet.

Event management: Plan, manage and attend events, conferences, webinars and seminars as part of the firm's marketing and BD campaigns.

Legal directories: Assisting with the preparation and coordination of the legal directory submissions and interviews.

Administration: Budget, production of reports, diary, travel and expenses management.

What you'll need

  • Minimum of 12-18 months marketing or equivalent experience in a professional services or equivalent B2B environment desirable.
  • Marketing or business degree desirable.
  • A desire to learn about businesses and sectors to support business development.
  • Good oral and written communication skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work outside of office hours particularly when running events.
  • A strong team player; ready to help colleagues.
  • Ability to prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines under pressure; ability to use initiative and work with limited supervision with a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Excellent IT skills and competency, and an interest in digital / social media.
